Your Faith is respected at Thrive Arlington Christian Counseling

My name is Dr. Anthony Centore, Founder and Therapist of Thrive Arlington Christian Counseling, and I want you to know that even if you may feel you’re hopelessly lost, even if you’re in the deepest pits of despair, even if you feel that you deserve no forgiveness or mercy – you can have a better, more fulfilling life.

All you need to do is reach for it, even if it seems impossible right now.

Jeremiah 6:14 explained the situation well. It says "They have healed the brokenness of my people superficially, Saying, 'Peace, peace,' But there is no peace."

Perhaps you may find strength in your faith, but find yourself faltering when faced with seemingly insurmountable odds with problems like depression or anxiety. Perhaps you feel uncomfortable with the ‘sanitized’ and ‘godless’ approach that typical counselors use to ‘treat’ you of your problems. Perhaps you may even feel a sense of guilt and self-loathing for not being able to live up to the tenets of Christ’s teachings.

Such a situation reminds me of the story of Job, where his "counselors" were convinced there was some sin in Job's life that caused his suffering--they could not have been more wrong!

Each person’s problems and suffering is unique to his or her own situation, but it is very likely that you can relate to one or more of the following Common Life Problems: depression, anxiety, self-image / self worth issues, and relationship problems or marriage conflicts. Too many of us suffer and hide from our problems, afraid that we would be ostracized or pushed away by others who share the same faith. Even worse, there is the possibility of spiraling further and further into despair if we find that we are not able to live up to the standards that our faith has set. It then becomes a vicious cycle that feeds on self-loathing and suffering.

So who can you turn to for emotional, behavioral and cognitive healing while respecting the spiritual side of you that you lean on?

We at Thrive Arlington Counseling believe that life is too precious and valuable to be destroyed by problems. We respect your faith, and we take measures to make sure that your faith becomes an integral part of healing. Thus, we encourage you to review the list of services we have to offer to help you overcome your problems, whatever they may be:

We go the extra mile to not only provide our clients with only the best counseling services staffed by the most competent counselors, but we take extra measures to give our Christian clients Christian Counseling services to allow both their hearts and souls to heal.

It is this focus on our client’s welfare and wellbeing that pushes us to give our all from the first time you make a phone call to our office (617-395-5806), to the first step you take in our office atop a beautiful building on Cambridge.

We at Thrive Arlington treat our clients with the utmost care and respect. At Thrive, you are a person, not a disorder. We do not see you as a simple list of symptoms, diagnoses and problems. You are a person who wants healing in mind, heart and soul, and we recognize and respect that.

To facilitate better, more engaging lives, we look at the way we practice our profession of counseling as both an ART and a SCIENCE that helps people attain the same satisfaction and fulfillment as that our high-achieving and widely respected clients receive.

And it is this core philosophy of incorporating art and science into our approach that allows our clients with:
  • Depression experience to true happiness, not just temporary relief from pain.
  • Anxiety to cultivate peace of mind, not just to feel at ease.
  • Relationship problems to make and maintain meaningful relationships, not just ‘getting along better’ with others.
  • Guilt and shame learn to truly absolve themselves and others, not just to say ‘sorry’ and be done with it.
  • Addiction and dependency problems to become complete people, not just to stop the compulsion.
